Itinerary
Begin your day with an early pick-up from your hotel at 4:00 AM.
Complimentary pick-up is available from hotels around the Wilpattu area and nearby locations such as Anuradhapura, Puttalam, and Kalpitiya.
Enjoy a comfortable drive toward Wilpattu National Park in our safari jeep.
Upon arrival, you’ll stop near the park entrance to enjoy a packed breakfast, allowing you to fuel up before starting your safari.
Our guides will help with ticket purchasing at the park office, after which your safari adventure will officially begin.
Start your morning safari around 6:30 AM, as the park's wildlife is most active during the early hours.
Explore the park's vast landscapes, including its lakes and forests, and keep an eye out for Wilpattu’s famous leopards. With its large leopard population, Wilpattu provides excellent chances for spotting these elusive predators.
Other animals you may encounter include elephants, water buffalo, spotted deer, sloth bears, mugger crocodiles, and various bird species.
After a morning of thrilling wildlife encounters, pause for a relaxing lunch within the park. Enjoy your meal in the midst of nature, with scenic views and sounds of wildlife around you.
After lunch, embark on the second half of your safari. Wilpattu's diverse ecosystems support a variety of species, including aquatic birds that thrive near the park’s numerous "villus" (natural lakes) and the western boundary bordering the Indian Ocean.
Your guide will help you spot some of the park’s 31 mammal species, such as the ruddy mongoose, sambar deer, Bengal monitor lizards, and mouse deer.
As your full-day safari draws to a close, you will be escorted back to your hotel around 6:00 PM.
Take in the last glimpses of wildlife as you exit the park, ending a day filled with incredible sightings and memorable moments.
