Itinerary

Early Morning Pick-Up (5:00 AM)

  • Begin your safari bright and early with a 5:00 AM pick-up from your hotel.
  • Complimentary pick-up is available from hotels in Udawalawe and surrounding areas, such as Embilipitiya.

Arrival at Udawalawe National Park Ticket Office (Around 5:45 AM)

  • After a short drive, we’ll arrive at the park’s ticket office, where you can purchase your entry tickets.
  • Your guide will assist you with the ticketing process before entering the park.

Entering Udawalawe National Park (6:00 AM)

  • Enter the park at around 6:00 AM, just as the wildlife becomes active.
  • Your guide will take you through the park’s best wildlife viewing areas, helping you spot elephants, water buffalo, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species.

Wildlife Exploration

  • After visiting the transit home, continue your safari, exploring deeper into the park’s diverse landscapes.
  • Depending on your package selection, you can choose between:
    • Half-Day Safari: End your tour around 11:00 AM after an exciting morning in the park.
    • Full-Day Safari: Continue exploring until approximately 4:00 PM for a comprehensive wildlife experience.

Breakfast and Lunch

  • Breakfast: Around 9:00 AM, enjoy a delicious breakfast amid the stunning natural surroundings of Udawalawe.
  • Lunch (Full-Day Tour Only): For full-day safari participants, we will pause for a relaxing lunch at approximately 12:30 PM.

Visit the Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home

  • We will make a stop at the Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home, a must-see attraction where orphaned and injured elephants are rehabilitated before being released back into the wild.
  • Watch the heartwarming sight of young elephants being fed and cared for, and learn more about elephant conservation efforts in Sri Lanka.
