This itinerary focuses on two magnificent cultural sites and allows you to bask in the serenity of the beautiful southern beach areas. Welcome to your first day in Sri Lanka with Views Lanka! Upon arrival, our representative will greet you warmly and escort you to a comfortable vehicle with an experienced chauffeur-guide. We’ll head straight to the Sigiriya area, about a 150-kilometer journey taking roughly three and a half hours. After checking into your hotel, you can relax.
In the afternoon, around 3:00 PM, we’ll visit the iconic Dambulla Rock. Dress modestly for this three-hour climb of about 300 steps. Dambulla Rock is renowned for its well-preserved cave temple complex, featuring paintings and statues depicting Lord Buddha and his teachings across five caves.
After a fulfilling day, unwind with a traditional Ayurvedic massage in Habarana, ensuring you feel relaxed and rejuvenated. Overnight stay in Sigiriya, preparing for more adventures ahead.
On the second day of your tour with Views Lanka, we’ll kick-start the day with a visit to the iconic Sigiriya Lion Rock after breakfast. As one of Sri Lanka’s most famous landmarks, this colossal rock fortress offers breathtaking views and ancient history.
Following our exploration of Sigiriya, we’ll head to Minneriya National Park for an afternoon safari adventure. Here, you’ll have the chance to witness the majestic Asian elephants in their natural habitat, as well as other fascinating wildlife species.
After an exhilarating day of sightseeing and wildlife encounters, we’ll return to our hotel in Sigiriya for a relaxing evening. Enjoy the comforts of your accommodation and prepare for more exciting adventures ahead!
After breakfast, your journey from Sigiriya to Kandy begins. Along the way, immerse yourself in Sri Lanka’s vibrant culture and rich culinary heritage with a visit to the Dambulla wholesale vegetable market. Here, you’ll gain insight into the country’s diverse array of fruits and vegetables.
Next, explore a herbal spices garden, where you’ll discover the secrets behind Sri Lanka’s renowned spices, including the endemic cinnamon. Don’t miss the opportunity to purchase some of the finest spices during your visit to the spice plantation.
Enjoy a traditional Sri Lankan buffet lunch at New Ranweli restaurant in Matale Spice Garden, sampling a variety of authentic dishes and desserts.
After checking into your hotel and refreshing yourself, unwind with a mesmerizing cultural dance show in Kandy. Following the performance, embark on a visit to the iconic Kandy Tooth Relic Temple, where ancient traditions come to life with drumming and sacred chanting in honor of the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha.
Immerse yourself in the rich history and majestic architecture of the temple, which was constructed under the reign of the Kandyan Kings. Marvel at the impressive Pattirippuwa (Octagon) and the serene Kandy lake surrounding the temple.
Relax and unwind for the night as you settle into your accommodation in Kandy, ready for more adventures in the days ahead.
After breakfast, we depart from Kandy towards Bentota. En route, our first stop is the renowned Peradeniya Botanical Garden, where you can immerse yourself in the beauty of nature for half a day. This expansive garden, spanning 147 acres near the Mahaweli River, is famed for its diverse collection of over 4000 plant species, including orchids, spices, and medicinal plants.
Steeped in history dating back to the 14th century, the origins of the Botanic Gardens trace back to the reign of King Wickramabahu III. Despite facing destruction during British rule, the garden was revitalized in 1843 under the stewardship of George Gardner, expanding its scope and independence.
After exploring the botanical wonders, we continue our journey to Bentota, where you can unwind on the sandy beaches in the evening. Your overnight stay awaits in the tranquil surroundings of Bentota.
Enjoy a leisurely morning on the stunning sandy beaches of Bentota before checking out from your hotel. Prior to your airport transfer, embark on an exhilarating boat safari along the scenic Madu River, promising unforgettable moments of fun and discovery.
Experience the wonders of the Bentota Mangrove during a captivating 2-hour river cruise, observing water monitor lizards, river birds, and the occasional rare crocodile in their natural habitats. Learn about the crucial role mangroves play in erosion prevention and their significance as a natural barrier against tsunamis.
As you journey towards the airport, seize the opportunity to visit a sea turtle conservation center. If time permits, indulge in water sports activities along the Bentota River.
Conclude your journey with a comfortable transfer to the airport via the expressway, covering a distance of approximately 150 km in just two and a half hours.
