Itinerary

Morning Pick-Up (5:00 AM)

  • Your day begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Ampara, Polonnaruwa, or any nearby location.
  • After a comfortable drive to the park entrance, your guide will assist in purchasing the necessary entrance tickets.

Entry to Maduru Oya National Park (6:30 AM)

  • Upon arrival, you will enter Maduru Oya National Park, known for its large elephant population and lush landscapes. The early morning hours are the best time to observe wildlife, particularly elephants and other herbivores grazing peacefully.

Start of the Jeep Safari (6:45 AM)

  • Begin your jeep safari through the park, as you traverse through forests, grasslands, and wetlands. Maduru Oya is home to spotted deer, sambur, wild boar, and various species of monkeys. You’ll also have the chance to spot water buffalo and possibly even the elusive leopard.

Visit to Maduru Oya Reservoir (9:30 AM)

Here, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and observe aquatic birds and other wildlife that thrive around the reservoir.
